Mall Entrance

Mirrored mall entrance near our apartment. Was closed at this our of the night, but they are clearly preparing for Christmas.

Tokyo Apartment

Our home for the next three days is a small studio apartment in the Harajuku area. We arrived about 8pm (express train from Narita takes over an hour!) under a light rain. We still took a couple hours to walk around the neighborhood, which includes Tokyo's "Champs-Élysées," and got a bite to eat at the 7-11-esque Family Mart.

Christmas in Japan

There are lots if lights and decorations around for Christmas. I would have never guessed.

JAL Food

We know we're getting KFC on the way back. But the food on the way there was great!

First meal service was chicken & radish with rice, noodles, shrimp salad, fresh fruit, miso soup, a Belgian chocolate with a first flight wrapper and Haagen Dazs ice cream.

Second meal service was a tasty Yoshinoya beef bowl with pickled ginger and almond jello for dessert.

Along with a couple of mini bottles of red wine and JAL's own Sky Drink, it was great!

Here in Japan!

Much more to come but the first flight from San Diego to Tokyo was a success!

A Huge Ceremony

Lots of people in business suits celebrated this first flight at the gate and lots of bowing occurred. Today is also officially Japan Airlines Day in San Diego.
